Klemchuk Kubasta LLP (K&K) will expand its Domain Name Recovery Practice, effective immediately. The practice will operate within the Intellectual Property section and will be led by Kelly J. Kubasta and Bhaveeni D. Parmar. 

 

The Domain Name Recovery Practice will focus on protecting clients from domain name infringement, cybersquatting, phishing, domain name tasting, and other acts of unfair competition. In addition, the practice will advise clients on issues regarding false advertising, metatag usage, copyright and trademark usage, privacy and publicity matters, and ICANN preceedings. “Domain names are intended to be used as identifiers for an online business,” stated Mr. Kubasta. “However, third parties often attempt to profit by exploiting the system and register numerous valuable domain names, only to offer them for sale at higher prices or to use them to attract business to their own sites.”

 

The Domain Name Recovery Practice will launch a blog in 2009 centered on “Unfair Competition in Cyberspace.” The blog will be hosted through the K&K web site, www.kk-llp.com, which is currently home to numerous resources relating to the Domain Name Recovery practice, including an e-commerce glossary.

 

Kelly J. Kubasta focuses his practice on patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret and other intellectual property litigation and enforcement. In addition, Mr. Kubasta has extensive experience representing clients in commercial and business disputes, particularly software development, trade-secret, and non-compete disputes.
