DALLAS – May 7, 2012 – Klemchuk Kubasta LLP (KK LLP), a leading full-service intellectual property (IP) law firm, has hired Austin Champion as its newest associate, effective May 7, 2012. With significant experience in all facets of the litigation process, Champion has a background in pursuing and defending complex business and intellectual property claims in both state and federal courts. He has represented clients in a broad range of industries, including telecommunications, software, energy, pharmaceuticals, finance and real estate.

Prior to his position at Klemchuk Kubasta, Champion played a significant role in the defense of a global smart-phone manufacturer against claims of patent infringement in the Eastern District of Texas. Working with other members of the defense team, Champion successfully excluded the plaintiff's experts on damages, drastically reducing his client's damages exposure at trial. The case settled shortly thereafter.

Champion received his B.A. at the University of Texas at Austin, and completed his J.D. cum laude at Southern Methodist University’s Dedman School of Law. In March 2012, Champion was selected by Super Lawyers Magazine as a Texas Rising Star. He is a member of the Dallas Bar Association and the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers.
