LAW STUDENTS
Our firm not only deals with cutting-edge legal issues, but we challenge every member of our firm to think out-of-the-box and solve issues using a team-oriented approach. This approach includes our law students, who provide us with a fresh perspective and curious inquiries on these issues. Simply put - we not only value their input, but strive to invest in their future. Typically, we hire one law student per year for a summer clerkship and part-time internship during the school year. This is a working clerkship, not the typical wine-and-dine clerkship offered by many firms. The law student can expect to get substantive assignments immediately and possibly client interaction. Roxana A. Sullivan is one of our recent success stories. She came on board during her second year of law school, and we didn’t want her to leave. During her tenure as an intern, Roxana worked on intellectual property projects and worked directly with a number of partners and IP paralegals. We worked around Roxana’s busy schedule at law school and during the time she clerked with us, she received first-hand experience helping us with many issues – including patents, trademarks, copyrights, domain name disputes, open-source software, keyword advertising, employee agreements, and IP ownership disputes. Roxana graduated in May 2008, and she started full time soon thereafter.
